Divers paradise is in Cozumel Mexico. Cozumel is a great place for both the divers and non-divers as there is plenty to do while you are there. With over 20 dive sites for all skill levels of divers to visiting the Dolphinaris, Shopping and eating at the local places.
Arriving in Cozumel
If you are like most people, you will fly into Cozumel International Airport (CZM) to start your journey into seeing one of the best diving destinations in the world. After debarking the aircraft you will be treated by the friendly immigrations officials of Mexico who will process your passport and give you a FMM (Multiple Immigration Form). Do not lose your FMM form as you will need this to leave the country, if you do lose it be ready to pay a replacement fee. After the immigration area you will be going though customs. Here you will place your luggage on a security machine conveyer belt and you will press a button button that will give you a “green light/red light”. If you get the green light you are ready to pick up your items and leave though the doors. If you get a red light time to grab your luggage and go visit another desk for a closer inspection of your luggage.
Now after getting though immigrations and customs you will get your first taste of being in Cozumel , a greeting by the Timeshare sales people, just say “No!” and keep walking towards the Shuttle Van ticket booth or the Car Rental booths. Those are the only two official methods (beside walking) to get out of the airport. More detailed information on arriving and leaving Cozumel can be found on Scubaboard.
I’m Here now what?
There are 4 different parts of Cozumel, The North, San Miguel, South and East Side. Most diving sports are located in the southern part of Cozumel, but Hotels are all over and transportation options vary depending where you are at vs. your diving operator. After you check into your hotel, you may want to reach out to your dive operator to confirm the details of your trip. There are plenty of options on what to eat, depending upon if you are staying at a all-inclusive or fend for your self. Both choices are generally really good, but when I travel I like to get a flavor of what the local eat and support those businesses. There are also plenty of places to walk around and see in Cozumel, here are a few photos I took while I was there.

Well all good times must come to a end, and thus its time to leave Cozumel. Well getting back to the airport you have a few more options that just a shuttle bus or car rental. You can walk or take a cab, but by now I’m sure you have learned to use Peso’s to pay for most everything. Getting back to the airport is pretty much the same as any other airport, with one exception you better still have the FMM or get ready to pay. After going though screening find your gate and get ready to board your plane for your flight back home.
