Open Water Diver

To enroll in a PADI Open Water Diver course (or Junior Open Water Diver course), you must be 10 years old or older. You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health. No prior experience with scuba diving is required.
We support the two different methods of scuba diving training, traditional and Online.
Traditional (Paper Manual) - $349
This is the first step after signing up and receiving your study materials. You will need to read the Open Water Diver Manual and view a three hour DVD. After you have studied and completed the videos make sure you complete the knowledge reviews for each chapter. You are now ready for the 2-3 hour classroom session, where will go over the the material you studied.
Online - $439
PADI’s Online Training program is designed so that you can learn the academics at your own pace.
PADI has two different methods for completing your open water online training. PADI Open Water Online is for PC's or MAC's that can use adobe Flash. PADI Open Water Touch is built for iPhones, iPads, iPods, and Tablets that can download a app from the Apple iTunes Store or Google App Store.

In the Open Water Diver course, you learn to use basic scuba gear, including a mask, snorkel, fins, regulator, BCD and a tank. Remember there is no need to purchase any gear, even “personal items” at National Scuba.
Now the fun starts, you will learn and practice your new SCUBA skills in a pool. You will have plenty of time to practice all the skills you will need in the pool. Most of the time we are able to get you though the pool in one day, but don’t worry if you have problems with a skill, we will work with you as much as possible to help you though . However if we need more time we can have another pool session to get you feeling confident in your skills. After you have completed the pool you are one more step closer to PADI certification.
Open Water Training
Just when you thought the pool was fun, now comes the most exciting part, Open Water! This is where you put all of your skills you learned in the pool to actual real life use. We will spend about 3 hours in the water over 2 different days under seeing the magical underwater world while under the close supervision of your PADI Instructor.
At National Scuba in Pensacola, FL we do things a little differently when it comes to schedule times. We work with both yours and our schedule to get you certified. If you can only meet on certain days that when we will meet. We don't have a set schedule that says on Monday we will do x, Tuesday we do y, and Wednesday we do z. If you can only meet on Tuesday we will meet on Tuesdays to get x,y, and z completed. At National Scuba we work together to get your certified.
